This is one cat that no one would want to mess with. Hercules is not just the world's largest living cat, he is also a Liger. For those who are unaware, a Liger is born from a cross between a lion and a tiger.
Huge Hercules is the result of a cross between a male lion and a tigress and is in the 2014 Guinness book of world record as the largest living cat in the world. This hybrid cat is 49 inches tall at the shoulder and 131 inches long.
True to his name, Hercules weighs 922 pounds. Ligers are not found in the wild, but can grow more than twice the size of either parent. For those who read Amish's Immortals of Meluha trilogy, imagining a Liger would have been a tough preposition. Well, no more, here is an image that shows you exactly how large the cat can get.
Hercules stays at the at the Myrtle Beach Safari wildlife preserve in South Carolina.
