Absolute shockingly, two jobless men have been appeared in court over charges of breaking into a pharmacy and stealing condoms and various medical products while under the influence of mind-altering substances.
According to the Prosecutors, the Emirati defendants, 41-year-old A.I. and 21-year-old H.A., used a screwdriver and a hammer to break into the pharmacy in Al Mankhool on December 1. Moreover, they carried away the cash register that contained Dh6,075, while they also took various products, including condoms, sugar test meters and devices for the blood glucose monitoring system. The two were also also known to have been charged with a crime of consuming different kinds of mind-altering substances.
The defendants appealed guilty when they appeared before the Dubai Court of First Instance.
Furthermore, A.I. told presiding judge Wajdi Al Menyawi that they want the court to send them to a rehabilitation centre for treatment against addiction.
In fact, an Egyptian pharmacist testified that the building’s watchman informed him that he found the store’s front door broken around 5.45am.
The pharmacist claimed that when he checked the pharmacy, he discovered that one person or more broke into the pharmacy and stole the register and different medical products and he reported the matter to the police immediately.
According to the charge sheet, A.I., H.A. and two juvenile suspects (who were referred to the Dubai Juveniles Court) broke into the place and took the medical products and cash.
An Emirati police lieutenant told the court police were informed about different thefts that had been carried out using the same modus operandi in the same area.
As a concluding fact, the lieutenant claimed that a police team hit the company on December 17 for being involved in other robbery. They in fact seized Dh480 in A.I.’s possession and a medical strip of a banned substance while the defendants admitted that they took a car belonging to H.A.’s mother and headed to the pharmacy and they broke the front glass door with a screwdriver and hammer and searched vigorously through the place then ran away. The judgment is known to be heard on April 25.
Now, the funniest part remain, that we might have generally heard about breaking in for gold or money but this time it's condom? What an embarrassing confusion? They now have to steal condom?
