The Spider-Man franchise is all set for a "girly" revamp. Surprised? Don't be.
The makers of “The Amazing Spider-Man” franchise are incessantly toiling to bring something new to the table. And what we have this time around isn't just new, but jaw-dropping too.
That's right! Sony Pictures is now planning to widen its cinematic universe by roping in one of its first female superheroes for its next spinoff (talk about women power!).
With “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” grossing a mere $700 million worldwide, it's makers have canned the next Spidey spin-off until 2018. Meanwhile, it has plans to release a Spider-Woman flick, tentatively slated for 2017.
Confirming this, “The Amazing Spider-Man” director Marc Webb said that there is a possibility of a Spider-Woman coming to life on screen.
"This hasn't been on my mind. But it's an interesting idea," Webb said.
With “The Amazing Spider-Man 3” as far as 2018, we hope
Lucky for us, Spider-Woman will soon be able to fill the void!
