No sooner the news of Eddie Murphy's death on a freak snowboarding accident hit Twitter, the social networking site was overwhelmed with condolence tweets. But as it turned out the death news of the stand-up comedian was nothing but a hoax! The 'Beverly Hills Cop' star is very much alive and kicking.

The rumors surfaced soon after Paul Walker's tragic death on November 30, when fans were refusing to believe the 'Fast & Furious' star had died.

However, 'The Haunted Mansion' actor's publicist confirmed that he is alive.

Eddie is the latest in a long line of celebrities to be victim to a Twitter death hoax. Formerly, Jackie Chan, George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Russell crow had fallen victims to such death hoax.
