Mahindra and Mahindra have announced that they are collaborating with Dolby Laboratories to bring the Dolby Atmos experience to the company's new electric SUV range, the Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e. The move is said to be the first collaboration between a British-American technology company and an Indian car manufacturer. This audio experience will be integrated into the EV SUV's infotainment system, courtesy of Gaana. Gaana is also working with an Indian original equipment manufacturer (OEM) on the new Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e. According to Mahindra, the integration of Dolby Atmos brings the sound studio experience to new vehicles built on the Born Electric platform. It's designed to provide greater clarity and depth when listening to music, podcasts, movies, and more. Dolby Atmos works with the 16 Harman Kardon speakers that come standard on the Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e.
The in-car entertainment system consists of three-way speakers with tweeters, midrange and woofers next to the front seats. At its heart is the highly reliable Unity speaker design and Harman surround back speakers. The Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e also feature a ceiling-mounted subwoofer and dual speaker drivers for an in-car surround sound experience with Dolby Atmos. The cars are part of the Mahindra Born Electric Vision, which underpins the INGLO platform that is said to support advanced safety features specifically tailored to meet international industry standards. The Indian car manufacturer has entered into a partnership with the Volkswagen Group to supply components such as batteries, electric motors, battery cells and system components for the further development of the platform. The company plans to introduce a total of five Born Electric models, but two models have been introduced so far.
The Mahindra BE 6 is a performance-oriented model with a bold design language and attractive performance metrics. On the other hand, the Mahindra XEV 9e positions itself as a premium electric vehicle with premium materials and interior design. It has several features that increase convenience.
