The Honda Activa e electric scooter was launched in India on Wednesday after months of speculation. Developed exclusively for the Indian market keeping in mind consumer preferences and regional characteristics, the Activa e marks the Japanese automaker's first foray into the country's electric vehicle (EV) market. The electric vehicle is equipped with replaceable battery packs that together provide a range of up to 102 km. It also features connectivity via the company's RoadSync Duo suite, which allows users to make calls and change direction via Bluetooth smartphone pairing. Honda says the Activa e is a step in the right direction in its plan to launch 30 electric models by 2030. The Honda Activa e will be available in Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai from spring 2025. Honda also plans to launch a battery sharing service called Honda e:Swap using the Mobile Power Pack e in the above-mentioned cities in India. This service is operated by Honda Power Pack Energy India Private Limited.
This electric scooter is available in Standard and Sync Duo variants in Pearl Igneous Black, Pearl Shallow Blue, Pearl Serenity Blue, Matte Foggy Silver Metallic and Pearl Misty White. According to Honda, India's first electric passenger car is equipped with an in-wheel electric motor with a rated power of 4.2 kW, a maximum power of 6.0 kW and a maximum torque of 22 Nm. This device is equipped with two replaceable battery packs with a capacity of 1.5 kWh and its maximum range is 102 km. The Honda Activa e has Econ, Sport and Standard driving modes and Sport mode reaches a top speed of 80 km/h. For convenience, electric scooters are also equipped with a reverse mode. Honda says its electric scooter takes its name from the hugely popular 110cc ICE version but has an entirely new design. It is equipped with LED daytime running lights, LED headlights with indicators and alloy wheels with front disc brakes.

Apart from the Honda Activa e, the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese automaker has also launched the QC1, an electric scooter for short-distance travel. This device is equipped with a 1.5 kWh battery and a wheel motor with a rated power of 1.2 kW and a maximum output power of 1.8 kW. The maximum range should be 80 km. Other features include a 5-inch LCD instrument cluster, LED headlights, a USB Type-C socket and an under-seat luggage compartment.
