Apple iPhones may be produced in India if the talks bet the representatives of Foxconn Technology and the officials of Indian government. They have approached the officials with an aspiration to take part in PM Narendra Modi’s flagship programme ‘Make In India’. According to the analysts, the wage problems in China are switching the manufacturers to focus on India’s opportunities.
Undoubtedly, India is the second best destination for investors in the manufacturing sector as we are also offering a better environment like land, electricity, amenities, low taxation and especially they can view Indian labour as high quality with low income aspirations, when compared to the workers in the US and other western economies.
The lower production costs, always become the primary ingredient after the facilities like accessibility and plant premises. According to the media reports, Foxconn has been planning for 10-12 centres in India by 2020.
The Taiwan-based Foxconn Technology, has been working for global giants like Apple, Xiaomi, Acer and Sony. The fast emerging electronic devices manufactures like Xiaomi are also planning to establish their production units in India to grab the opportunities of low taxation, lower wages, better support from the governments and the vibrant market (India).
If the companies start the manufacturing plants in India, the customers or users will get devices at cheaper rates as the transportation expenditure becomes zero or minimal.
