After a formal nod from the authorities that Air Asia could set up a company in India, Tony Fernandes has been making his move quicker than other players in the world. The latest progress at Air Asia India is that a Chief Executive Office has been appointed on Sunday night.
Though Fernandes has not mentioned in the tweet about the identity of the person, he said he was overjoyed to have him on board. His tweet read, "The board of AirAsia India has approved and appointed a CEO for AirAsia India. He will be a revelation. Thrilled to have him on board”.
PTI has been circulating a rumor that Air Asia India has not yet appointed a CEO, quoting a spokesperson from the organization but they have all been settled now.
Air Asia, the largest low-cost airline in South East Asia will join hands with Tata Sons and Telestra Tradeplace of Arun Bhatia for the low-cost airline services domestically. On April 4th the Foreign Investment Promotion Board has approved the venture.
DGCA was not contacted yet by the new AirAsia India airlines yet for their flying license but it wouldn't take a lot more time before they get their license.
