Bollywood veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has contributed a huge amount to districts of Maharashtra which have been ravaged by floods, revealed Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, thanking the superstar.
Thank you Amitabh Bachchan ji for your gesture of coming forward & contributing ₹51,00,000 towards #CMReliefFund #MaharashtraFloods

This will inspire many to help & contribute in our rehabilitation efforts for flood affected dists like Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara.@SrBachchan
At a recent press conference, Amitabh Bachchan refrained to talk about when asked about his efforts to contribute citing he was not one of those people who publicized his contributions to such causes.
While Amitabh Bachchan made his contribution to the Chief Minister's relief fund, another veteran actor Nana Patekar sworn to build 500 houses for those who have lost their homes in the floods.
Actors Riteish Deshmukh and wife Genelia Deshmukh also donated Rs 25 lakh to the Chief Minister Relief fund and temple trust of Shirdi donated Rs 10 crore and Mumbai's Lalbag Cha Raja gave Rs 25 Lakhs.
A huge section of Marathi actors also took a progressive part in doing their bit for the flood-affected areas and even took to twitter to trend #marathikalakarformaharashtra, asking for help.
Marathi actor and director Subodh Bhave made an appeal for materials to be given rather than giving funds and was quoted as saying, "We have contacted the collectors of Sangli and Kolhapur and asked them what relief materials they need. We will be putting up collection stalls at Mumbai, Thane, and Pune and the donations will be directed towards Collector Offices in Sangli and Kolhapur.”
Although Amitabh remained true to his words that he will never publicize such donations, this revelation was made by Devendra Fadnavis.
The Chief Minister of Maharashtra further called on the nation to make donations to help salvage Kolhapur, Satara and Sangli districts which have been adversely affected by floods.
