Isha Koppikar has signed a challenging role in “Saangli” that will be directed by debutant Ankur Narendra Bhatia to make a comeback. The movie, Saangli, will begin in October 2015 and is scheduled to release in early 2016. “Chashme Baddoor” fame Divyendu Sharma will play a key role in Saangli, while Koppikar will play the mentor of a female spiritual leader who will be shown aging from 30 to 80 years old.
The actress had numerologically altered her name to Ishaa Koppikar and then to Eesha Koppikhar for some years. Now she is back to her maiden name. Her first film was not released and then Koppikar made her debut in a small role in Fiza. Isha Koppikar proved her acting skills in a variety of roles that were romantic in Ek Vivaah…Aisa Bhi, comic in Kya Kool Hain Hum, dark in Krishna Cottage and more.
Isha was last seen in 2013 in a Marathi film “Maat” and in 2011 in ‘Shabri’ a Hindi film. The actress went off movies after her marriage to restaurateur Timmy Narang. Now she has a baby girl Rianna, born in 2014. Koppikar is planning to balance her career and motherhood.
“Acting is my passion, and I will now look only at challenging roles. Motherhood is the most beautiful thing that can happen to a woman,” Isha Koppikar says.
Although she is making a comeback with ‘Saangli’ in Hindi, Isha Koppikar has done a South Indian film when her infant was just three months old. Koppikar has plans to produce a film.
