It’s hardly two weeks from the day of release of Kangana Ranaut's 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ and it has already set a mark by being the fastest ever movie of 2015 to reach the 100 crore mark. The sequel to the 2011 movie ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ has collected Rs 103.47 cr by the end of the tenth day of its run.
The movie had earned a mere Rs8.85 cr on its opening day. But gradually, the movie gained its popularity due to an impressive double-role played by Kangana.
Made on a budget of Rs30 cr, ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ has fared well in box office for its good script and appreciable performance by the actors.
“I am feeling relieved. There was a pressure with the sequel, but I’m overwhelmed with the kind of response that I have received for his film. It is the small characters in the film who have played a pivotal role. I always feel each and every character in the film is extremely important.” said Aanand L Rai, director of the movie.
Film critics and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to express their views regarding the movie.
