Hrithik Roshan Krrish 3 Movie Review and Rating

If Hollywood can boast of superheroes like Superman, Batman and Spiderman, so can we! Our first-ever desi-bred superhero Krrish is back, and in a never-before kind of a way. Krrish is certainly the stuff superheroes are made of, complete with Greek-god looks, almighty powers, muscles of steel and heart of gold. Like its prequels, the new installment of the Krrish franchise hangs on to the original idea of noble versus nefarious, but director Rakesh Roshan antes up his story-line with a riveting plot, awe-inspiring animatronics, larger-than-life entertainment, and a malevolent super-villain that soars this sci-fi flick to new orbits.

Story

'Krrish3' unspools with a quick recap of the story so far, recounting how Krrish reunited with his dad Dr. Rohit Mehra in the last movie. Leaping from where the prequel 'Krrish' ended, the new films shows Krishna (Hrithik) married to his sweetheart (Priyanka). They stay with his genius father, Rohit Mehra (Hrithik). Dressed in a black cape and mask, he scurries across the city skyscrapers on heroic rescue operations, playing good hubby and an obedient son and earning a living doing odd jobs. However, his smooth existence is disrupted with the rise of a dark and destructive world of evil powered headed by 'Kaal' (Vivek). A maniacal villain with super powers and a malefic ambition to wipe out inferior beings - the human race.

Kaal inter-fuses DNA to create an array of menacing mutants called maanvars (manav+jaanwar) — a horned Rhinoman, a red-eyed Antman, a Frogman, and a super-shapely chameleon Kaya (Kangna). He wishes to fan out a deadly virus to destroy humanity, but Krrish uses his superpowers to save 'mankind' from the malignant 'mutakind'. And from there on, the battle between good versus evil takes on.

Analysis :

 krrish3 -review

Creating a world of superheroes on Indian screen is no child's play, more so when it's a fresh attempt on anybody's part. These challenges are clearly palpable in director Rakesh Roshan’s ‘Krrish3’.

Sr Roshan, however, sticks to the fundamentals of spinning a superhero movie that orbs around the battle of the good and bad. But the veteran, keeping pace with the evolving world of sci-fi flicks, fuses his flicks with technical marvels to create a visual spectacle that is truly jaw-dropping and of global standards.

The first half of the film introduces the audience to the characters and sets the premise for the action. The second half of the film is gripping and will hold you to your seat's edge till the last frame. Besides the VFX, the looks, the costumes, the makeup, the overall makeover of the characters is truly imaginative and will simply awe you.

The soundtrack of Krrish-3 is nothing mind-blowing. The background score by Salim-Sulaiman, however, is top notch, Cinematography by S. Tirru is fabulous and so are the actions and stunts, befitting a superhero flick.

Performance :

Hrithik Roshan plays his superhero role to the T, displaying larger-than-life flair and flying shoulder-to-shoulder like any other Hollywood superman. Even as the pot-bellied septuagenarian genius Rohit, he is incredible. He swings between the roles of Rohit and Krrish with incredible ease. In one word, Hrithik is the showstopper in the film.

Vivek Oberoi, as the crippled and maniac anti-hero is as sinsiter as a 'hellboy'. His caustic titter and white-washed make-up lends his character a fantastic fearful tease. Priyanka, in her small role, has little to do. Kangna, on the other hand, in her Gothic and devilishly devious avatar, looks jaw-dropping good and pulls off an out-of-the-world act. The actors playing the mutants leave an impact.

Final Word:
This is one superhero film that has all the elements of any good sci-fi flick — a masked superhero, a malevolent supervillain, a revengeful super story and a superbly shot battled. That said, Krrish does have its own flaws. But all in all, it's an engaging watch.
