Story
The story of Grand Masti kicks off from where Masti ended. The husbands are still married of course, but are very bored of their dedicated wives. They venture out to their college, SLUTS (Shree Lalchand University of Technology and Science), for a reunion to get some action (pun intended).
The trio of Amar, Meet and Prem meet the hair brained Rose, Mary and Marlowe, who give them both entertainment and a tricky situation. The boys try to educate the college kids with the female anatomy but soon find themselves dealing with someone's death. They now need to get themselves out of the tangle, making funny (supposedly) jokes in the process.
Analysis :
There is no masti in this film with all its cliched portrayal of women. Anyone who thinks this is funny should probably take a good look at themselves. Grand Masti's lead characters are nothing but perverted men who make fun of every woman they come across. For them, all women are free and all wives are boring, never mind the hard work they put in at home.
The film continually runs on cheap comedy with no screenplay or story line. Double meaning dialogues and getting laid are the sole purpose of these characters. Indra Kumar made sure this is the boldest of them all. If only the comedy was more witty than vulgar. Adult comedy is any day appreciated if it has entertainment value, but Grand Masti fails in that department. Other technical aspects are also just there, but not note worthy.
Films like these only portray women in a poor light. The part where the director shows a working woman in a negative shade is particularly worrisome. It is saddening how actors like Ritesh and Aftab have taken up such a subject.
Performance :
If cringe-worthy scenes and dialogues are not enough, over-the-top foolery from the lead characters is quite annoying. Still, Ritesh and Aftab are somewhat better than Vivek. The girls look stupidly pretty of course and the wives have performed decently in their meager roles.
Final Word:
Grand Masti is strictly for the hormonal youth, who have nothing better to do over a weekend. Families and women stay away!
