Sunny Leone, an adult movie star turned Bollywood actress, has been in the news since her induction into the Indian cinema Industry also because of controversies over her past films of short duration. Police have registered a case against her over the objectionable content in her website, on the basis of a compliant raised by a member of Hindu Janjagruti Samiti (HJS).
The petitioner, Anjali Palan (who reportedly claimed herself as the member of HJS), has mentioned that she had to come across some objectionable images and videos of the actress while surfing the internet. She has also stated that these pictures and naked stuff induces lust in young minds, as per the statement released by Dombivali police.
The police have registered the offense under the IPC sections 292, 292 A, 294 r/w 34 and provisions of Section 3 and 4 of the Indian Representation of Women as well as Information Technology Act also imposed. The cyber cell of the Thane Police has been investigating the case.
Some people are wondering about the incident, since the actor was popular for this stuff and definitely her website would carry the details of her field, while some have stated that the permission to such sites and praising those stars are influencing the Indian youth towards abuse and harassments. Some of the right wing activists are stating her website is against to the Indian culture, so that should be banned in India.
